Consequences for Violation:
- Vendors found violating consumer protection standards may face suspension or revocation of their Approved Vendor status by the Agency. Additionally, they may incur civil or criminal penalties from relevant authorities for violations of local, state, or federal law
- Approved Vendors may face conditional approval and progressive disciplinary measures for consumer protection issues. These may include temporary program participation suspension, limited program involvement, or restrictions on serving customers below 25 kW.
- The ABP Program Administrator may verify customer receipt, understanding, and signing of the Standard Disclosure Form. If a customer is found not to have received, understood, or signed the form, the Approved Vendor may face discipline for violating marketing guidelines.
- Instances of potentially misleading or deceptive marketing may be referred by the Program Administrator and/or the IPA to the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, consumer protection groups, local authorities, or other relevant entities.
